JANE:  The Old Royal Observatory opened its doors as a museum in 1967 and for the next 32 years that was what it was, a museum.  We had a phalanx of superbly qualified curators, but there was not one astronomer to be seen.  All that changed in 1998 when we took back the proud title of the Royal Observatory Greenwich.  With that came responsibilities especially the rather unfortunately named Public Understanding of Science (P.U.S for short) which meant starting Introduction to Astronomy and GCSE classes.
